Our Coaches

Our coaches love to ride and want your kids to as well.

Coaches

Clare Muir Wamba Community Trust

Clare

Clare pretty much lives and breathes cycling.  She coaches, guides, teaches cycling and in her spare time…she bikes!  She also runs a charity Wamba Community Trust that supports a remote community in central Kenya.

Nic Haines

Nic

A member of Dames MTB, Nic got into coaching as her youngest was a member of the Little Fodders, he has now progressed to the Pedal Syndicate race team! She also coaches pre-school gymnastics and is partial to a spot of Salsa dancing!

Little Fodders Coach

Mark B.

Mark is in the army, so he’s pretty hard and the kids love him for it!  He’s also parent-coach, and has been MTBing as long as Joe, basically they are very very old (school)!lock.

David (aka Windy)

Windy spent 12 years at the college before deciding in 2016 that he had given everything he could to the outdoor department and wanted to spend more time with his family and that local community was more important than a traditional lecturing career. He now heads up WyeMTB and helps out with training the Little Fodders Coaches and coaching the Little Fodders when he has a free weekend!

Katie

Katie loves riding bikes, whether it be road or mountain. When not at the FOD riding the downhill trails, she enjoys riding her road bike uphill in the mountains! Both Katies boys have been through the little Fodders club and now she can’t keep up with them on the trails!

Mark (aka Taff)

Lifelong cyclist Taff drops in to help out when he isn’t away guiding rides in Mallorca or helping groups tour the length of France or Lands End to John O’Groats! Having spent a chunk of his career organising Outdoor Experiences for others, it’s time to just “do nice things, outside, with nice people” whether that be on a MTB, road bike or walking in the hills.

Little Fodders Coach

Emma

Emma is the crazy one who always has the muddiest face at the end of every ride!
She loves riding bikes – MTB, BMX & Gravel and also enjoys going on bikepacking adventures.  Her other work is also cycling – bikeability and inclusive cycling. When not riding you can find her skiing, surfing, attempting acrobatics or whirling kung fu weapons in the gym.

Aimee

A Little Fodders parent of over 10 years now, Aimee knows the support network our Little Fodders kids require to get them out on their bikes, week after week!

She loves nothing more than a day out in the sun, up a mountain, riding bikes with her biking buddies and can often be tempted by the challenge of an Enduro race!  If not competing herself, she can be found marshalling at them.

Tig

Riding since he was a kid and having fond memories of local downhill races back in the day, Enduro racing is where he’s keen to challenge himself these days.  A real nerdy obsession with bike stats, he loved nothing more than playing with numbers to find that ultimate bike set-up!

If he’s not riding his bike, you’ll find him in his workshop repairing and maintaining them or on the hillside building and maintaining trails.

Assistant Coaches

Finn

Finn is one of first Assistant Under 18 Coaches that has done his Intro to Coach Award and now assists a fully qualified coach with Little Fodders sessions. He rides his bike whenever he can and says that all he thinks about most of the time!

Ollie

Little Fodders Coach

Freddie

Having been a member of the Little Fodders club from age 7-14, and then helping out for his DofE, Freddie was keen to help inspire the next generation of Fodders by becoming a coach. When not riding his bike, he can be found on the rugby pitch, a climbing wall or playing the drums!
